Last weekend I spoke at Huddling Club, invited by Figma tutor Yiseo Ha. The title was simple: the messy two months of a solo builder working with AI agents, failing, and resetting.

The condensed version of what I brought:

1. A solo builder needs their own channel and a harness dedicated to their real work, not a generic demo stack.
2. Initial setup changes every step that comes after it.
3. Token maxing only pays while you are still shaping the work environment. It is not a permanent operating mode.
4. In Q&A I said an AI-native person is someone who turns a thought into a question for AI and then into action without a long freeze.
5. I also said a solo builder can survive because a few hours of interviewing AI to finish planning is enough for the rest of the execution layer to carry a lot of the load.

Execution is increasingly the model's job. Finished work still needs your standards encoded as inputs: what good looks like, what to avoid, and what already failed. I call that documenting taste.

Once those three pieces are clear (inputs, quality bar, failure notes), repeating work can move into a dedicated harness. Until then the day keeps collapsing into re-explaining yourself to a blank session.

The room helped. Builders with the same stuck points pushed the conversation past the slides. Thanks to Yiseo Ha, the Huddling Club organizers, and everyone who showed up on a weekend.

If you only take one line: stop buying more tokens until your channel, harness, and taste docs exist. The spend is the easy part.
