Three Design Vocabularies That Kill AI Slop UI

Component names, motion words, and click-to-selector tools beat “make it pop” every time.

Vibe-coded UIs look alike less because models are weak and more because instructions are vague. Seniors say “tighten tracking,” “fix the eye path,” “stagger with spring easing.” Juniors say “make it nicer.”

Three on-ramps:

  1. Component names — Dialog, Toast, Segmented Control… not “popup with a close button.”
  2. Animation vocabulary — entrances, easing, springs, layout animations with precise terms.
  3. Point at the UI — tools like Agentation pass selectors, file paths, and computed styles so agents are not guessing “the blue button in the sidebar.”

Prompt engineering, for UI, is domain vocabulary. Better words, better pixels.
